Explore Oregon
Below we have listed a handful of Guided Tours so you can explore the area. Visit Bend is an amazing resource when it comes to playing, eating, and sleeping in Bend. Although we’re descending on Bend in October of 2023 to fill our minds, we have left Wednesday, October 11th free to leave room to fill our souls with activities outside the lecture hall. Take a look below at the multitude of extracurricular activities Bend has to offer!

Adventure like a local
Here are three awesome excursions that are favorites of our local Bend residents. This list was compiled by our very own Zoë Roy and any one of these outings is guaranteed to be a good time!
-
Start out with an 8 mile hike around Paulina Lake or a 20 mile mountain bike on the Newberry Crater Rim Trail, both located in the Newberry National Volcanic Monument.
On your way back to town, stop in at the Lava River Cave to explore a mile-long lava tube and/or check out the Lava Lands Visitor Center which is the interpretive hub of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument.
Finish off with an educational stroll through the High Desert Museum.
-
Head west for a 4 mile hike up Black Butte.
Worth stopping at Sisters Coffee on your way out and Boone Dog Pizza on your way back, both are located in Sisters, Oregon.
-
Phil’s Trail is the closest trail network to town and rideable (requires a few bonus miles of pedaling) from any of the bike rental shops.
Pedal straight to tacos at El Sancho on your way back into town!
