Our Workshop at The River House
Riverhouse on the Deschutes features the largest convention center in Central Oregon. It is the ideal location for meetings or events that take place in Bend. This state of the art, Silver LEED-certified building on the Deschutes River included indoor and outdoor meeting space for multi-day conventions. Each of the meeting and banquet rooms is close to the river, making the atmosphere ideal for everyone to enjoy the fresh air and tranquility of the Deschutes River.

Interested in being involved in ISSW in a volunteer capacity? Events like ISSW take a village to execute and we’d love to have you join us! Volunteer jobs range from registration check-in to setup and tear down of the conference. Sign up for a couple hours or sign up for the whole week! Exchange volunteer time for hours as a conference attendee.

International Snow Science Workshop
The International Snow Science Workshop (ISSW) exists to facilitate the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and experiences between snow science researchers and practitioners. The motto of the International Snow Science Workshop is "A Merging of Theory and Practice". ISSW hosts a biennial conference in North America and Europe that brings together researchers and practitioners from all over the world. ISSWs have been geographically rotated between USA-Europe-Canada starting with the first conference in Banff, Alberta in 1976.
ISSW 2024 will be held in Tromsø, Norway September 23-27, 2024.
The right to host ISSW 2026 is open to sites within Canada. ISSW 2028 will be held in the USA.
ISSWs are usually awarded 4 years in advance; however, a proposal can be considered earlier.
